No experience is needed. We offer three membership categories they are Active Member, Out-of-district Member, and Associate member.

Active members are the backbone of our department and members in this category are required to live in the response area. These members are expected to complete 24 hours of duty per quarter. These members are required to attend at least 1 meeting and 1 training per quarter.

Out-of-district members are members that live outside of our response area. We currently have active members who travel from Indianapolis. These members are expected to complete 36 hours of duty per quarter. These members are required to attend at least 1 meeting and 1 training per quarter. We prefer that Out-of-district members be certified with Firefighter I and Hazmat Operations, but no training is required to apply. Training and certifications will be provided once you become a member.

Associate members can live inside or outside the response area. They require no training, these members work with and assist Active members and Out-of-district members at fundraisers, public relations events, birthday parties, and during and after large scale incidents. These members can also transition to become an Active member or Out-of-district member positions if they desire.

Cadet members are the future of our department for kids age 14 to 17 years old. They require no training, these members work with and assist Active members and Out-of-district members at fundraisers, public relations events, birthday parties, and during and after large scale incidents. As these member progress the department will provide them with training and skills to obtain state certifications and no cost of the member. These members can also transition to become an Active member or Out-of-district member positions if they desire once they turn 18 years old.
